Nestled to the east of Lefkada, Kastos is a small tranquil island with shores untainted, graced by azure-green waters. The village of Kastos cascades amphitheatrically around its port, hosting a handful of restaurants renowned for their seafood delicacies sourced directly from the island’s fishermen. Spanning over 7 kilometers, the island’s main road extends from Kastos, tracing the eastern coastline and culminating at the northernmost tip where the church of Agios Emilianos stands—a delightful ascent unveiling the ancient settlement of Kastos, once nestled here until the 19th century. Don’t overlook the charm of Kalikerimi, where ancient olive trees weave tales of centuries past.

The shores of Kastos beckon with their smooth white pebbles, lapped by gentle azure-green waves. Explore Vali, Vrisidia, and Vabakia to immerse yourself in the crystal-clear waters of Kalada and Koutsoti, or don a mask and fins to discover the underwater marvels of Solos’ beach. Agios Emilianos boasts pristine sands and the Fokotrypa, a cavern plunging 30 meters beneath the surface, once a sanctuary for Mediterranean seals. Paliabella beach invites with its turquoise embrace, while Limni proudly showcases Kastos’ largest stretch of shoreline. To the south lie Ampelakia, a pebbled haven, and Fyki, extending an invitation to further exploration.
